  Why mitochondria known as power house of the cell. State its other functions also.

  Mitochondria is also known as the power house of the cell as it stores in it in the form of APT ( adenosine triphosphate ). It is the part where energy is released from food. B<font face=”inherit”>reakdown of pyruvate using oxygen takes place in the mitochondria. It is found in eukaryotic organism. It is found in animal cells. The energy is </font>released<font face=”inherit”> from it when it is required and when it comes in the contact of oxygen. </font>
