Not all plants undergo photosynthesis.Photosynthesis is a process which most of the plants undergo and convert light energy into chemical energy, but there are exceptions. There are plants Parasitic plants like Broomrape and dodder which lack chlorophyll and get their nutrients from other plants. Some plants like Indian pipe (Monotropa uniflora), are mycoheterotrophic, obtaining nutrients from fungi rather than producing them through photosynthesis. These plants evolved to depend on other organisms for substance, bypassing the need for photosynthesis. Thus, while photosynthesis is a comman and essential process in most of the plants, some have adapted alternative methods for obtaining nutrients.
