  Total surface area of the cylinder

  A cylindrical container has a radius of 4 cm and a height of 12 cm. Determine the total surface area of the container.

  Curved Surface area of container= 2*pi*r*h=2*3.14*4*12=301.44 cm^2

  Surface area of 2 circles above and below= 2*(pi*r*r)= 2*3.14*4*4=100.48 cm^2

  So total surface area= 301.44+100.48=401.92 cm^2
