Safe vs. Unsafe Cooking Utensils

Are non-stick utensils really good? Which type of utensils can be used for cooking and which should not be used?

Safe vs. Unsafe Cooking Utensils

Nonstick Cookware

Nonstick cookware is very popular these days and accounts for at least half of all cookware sales. It was first released in France in the 1950s and appeared on the U.S. market. Like the “Satisfry” skillet in the 1960s. By mid-1961, the instructions to the manufacturer, T-fal (still in business today), had reached one million a month. Few kitchens have at least one non-stop pan.

However, almost as soon as cookware-free cookware arrived on the market, rumors began circulating that it was “unsafe.” Concerns at the time were similar to those of today, focusing on the health effects of consumers on the smoke emitted from cookware during the use of the stove and the health effects of workers involved in the manufacture of durable clothing.
