Raksha Bandhan
Raksha bandhan is a very famous festival in India. This festival celebrated the bond between brother and sister. This is a festival of hindu religion. Brothers and sisters of all ages celebrate this festival. It strengthens the bond between them. “Raksha ” means protection and “Bandhan” means bond, thus the meaning of this festival is for brothers and sisters to pledge to protect each other. This festival took place in the mouth of sawaan, according to hindi calendar and in the month of august according to english calendar. Our siblings always carry a special space in our hearts, the love between siblings is beyond comparison. No matter how much they fight they always are for each in tough times, as a support. Elder siblings are very protective to younger siblings. The younger ones always look upto the elder ones. Raksha bandhan festival is all about celebrating this lovely bond. This day is celebrated to focus on this beautiful bond. Sister ties rakhi on brother’s wrist. They give presents to each other. It is done for the long life and good wishes to their siblings. The sisters receive a lot of love and pampering on this day. They get chocolate, dresses and money and many more as a present. All family members dressed in traditional clothes. But nowadays this festival isn’t limited to brothers and sisters, sisters and sisters always tie rakhi to each other’s wrist. Raksha bandhan is the one of the most enjoyable festival of India. It strength the bond and spread love.
