So, p × (1/3) = 4

p = 4 × (3/1)

The BODMAS rule is used to explain the order of operation to be followed while solving expressions in mathematics. BODMAS stands for

B – Brackets,

O – Order of powers,

D – Division,

M – Multiplication,

A – Addition,

S – Subtraction.

According to the BODMAS rule, the brackets have to be solved first then power or roots, then Division, Multiplication, Addition, and then at the end Subtraction. If the BODMAS rule is followed in any mathematical expression to solve it then only the expression is considered correct.

= 24+4

= 28

Thus 24+(8-4×1) = 28.

Example 3: 1/2[{-2(3+3)}10]

Solution: First we will simplify the terms inside () and then {}, then []

1/2[{-2(3+3)}10] = 1/2[{-2(6)}10]

= 1/2[{-12}10]

= 1/2[-120]

= -60

Thus, 1/2[{-2(3+3)}10] = -60.
