Description
Counting Hands Number Learning is a fun and interesting activity for kids that develops their knowledge of counting from 1 to 10. This activity is especially for preschool kids. This activity is in the form of an abacus, which develops their mathematics skills.
Materials Needed:
- Printables
- Scissors (with adult supervision)
- Glue & Tape
- Construction Paper
- Colourful beads & thread
- Crayons and Markers
Plan Of Action :
- Colour the hands using crayons and markers. Then, cut hands through the dotted lines. Use scissors to cut the shapes. Do it under the supervision of a teacher or parent.
- Attach both hands to the construction paper with the help of glue by sticking only the palms and wrists of the hands, leaving some space between them.
- Fold the fingers inwards, i.e., towards the palm.
- Make two holes between the hands, leaving quite a good space between them vertically.
- Insert the thread from the top hole and thread ten beads in it then pass the thread out of the second hole and secure the end of the thread with glue or tape.
To Play:
- To play the game, start by sliding the beads to the top of the rope. Next, parents will slide a certain number of beads down. The child then needs to open the same number of fingers on their hands that were previously folded. For example, if the parent slides down 5 beads, the child must open 5 fingers.
