Description
Mushrooms Addition Game is an interesting activity for kids that provides them with knowledge of mathematics. This activity can be done by all age groups. Addition is one of the important topics of mathematics, as it helps them in higher studies to have a better understanding of mathematics and solve complex questions easily. Kids can solve this activity anywhere they want, like at home, in school, or as a group activity with their friends to have a quick learning.
Materials Needed
- Printables
- Scissors (with adult supervision)
- Glue or a glue stick
- Earbuds
- 1 rectangular piece of cardboard. & Plastic tape.
Instructions
- Cut out the mushrooms from pages 1-6 following the dotted lines. Next, glue the mushrooms on the first page to the rectangular cardboard piece. Then, cut out the shapes on page 7 and arrange them as follows: for addition or subtraction, place the shapes between the mushrooms to create an equation. The shapes that represent the equal sign and the empty box should be centered below the mushrooms.
- After that, attach tape only to the circles on the mushrooms without a number and create holes in the smaller circles on the mushroom caps. Additionally, cut ten earbuds in half.
- To play, in the case of addition, the parent or teacher will write two numbers on the taped sections of the mushrooms (the circles). The child will then calculate the answer to the equation by placing half of the earbuds in the holes of the mushroom cap, facing up. After counting the total number of buds on both mushrooms, the child will place the mushroom card that corresponds to the solution of the equation on the shape after the equal sign.
