“Rashtrapati Bhavan” Designed
Rashtrapati Bhavan, the official residence of the President of India, was designed by Sir Edwin Landseer Lutyens, an English architect. Lutyens was commissioned to design the building in 1912 and construction began in 1914. The construction of the Rashtrapati Bhavan was completed in 1929. Lutyens’ design combined classical and Indian architectural styles, resulting in a unique and grand structure that has become an iconic symbol of India’s political power.
