    The transfer of pollen grains from the anther of the stamina to the stigma of a flower is termed as pollination. In pollination, pollen grains can be transferred by various agents like wind water insects and animals.

    Pollination can be of two types self pollination and cross pollination.

    1) Self pollination- In self pollination the anther from the saman of a flower is transferred to the stigma of a same flower. The process of self pollination occurs in the same flower.

    2) Cross pollination- In cross pollination the answer from the stamen of a flower is transferred to the stigma of different flower. The process of cross pollination occurred in between two different flowers.

    Pollination is followed by fertilization in plants it is the process of fusion of male germ cells produced by pollen grains with the female gametes present in ovule it gives rise to sahi court which is capable of growing into a new plant. This process happens in both self pollination and cross pollination without any difference.
