    A rectangle has a length of L units and a width of 5 units. If the perimeter is 22 units, write an equation to find the length of the rectangle.

    Perimeter of a rectangle = 2(length + breadth)

    –>P = 2(l+b).

    Now we know , that

    P= 22 units

    length, l = L units

    width(also known as breadth), b = 5 units

    So substituting that in the equation: P = 2(l+b),

    22=2(L + 5)

    –> 22 = 2*L + 2*5

    –> 22 = 2*L + 10

    –> 22 – 10 = 2*L

    –> 12 = 2L

    –> 2L = 12

    –> L = 12/2

    –> L = 6 units

    So the length of the rectangle is 6 units.
