Here are a few ways animals respond to weather changes:

Barometric Pressure: Some animals, such as birds and fish, are sensitive to changes in barometric pressure. A sudden drop in pressure, which often happens before a storm, can make birds fly lower and seek shelter. Fish may move to different depths or change their feeding behavior.

Sensing Humidity: Certain insects like ants and bees can sense changes in humidity. An increase in humidity, which often precedes rainfall, can make them more active or prompt them to protect their nests and hives.

Magnetic Fields: Many animals, including birds and sea turtles, can sense Earth’s magnetic fields. They use this ability for navigation during migration. Some studies suggest that animals may detect changes in magnetic fields caused by approaching weather systems to anticipate weather changes.

Sound of Thunder: Some animals have sharp hearing and can detect the sound of distant thunder before humans do. Horses and cattle, for example, may become restless or anxious when they hear thunder, indicating an approaching storm.

Seasonal Changes: Animals rely on seasonal cues to anticipate weather patterns. Changes in day length, temperature, and food availability can give them an idea of the upcoming weather. For instance, certain birds migrate based on changes in daylight hours, which signal the arrival of winter.

While these behaviors can give animals a general sense of weather changes, they are not as accurate as the sophisticated tools and methods used by meteorologists. Animals have developed these instincts over time to increase their chances of survival in different environmental conditions.
