Biogas is a type of gas that is produced by the decomposition of organic matter such as food scraps, animal manure, or plant materials, decomposes naturally. This decomposition process occurs in an oxygen-free environment, such as a biogas digester or a landfill. The organic matter is broken down by bacteria and other microorganisms, which release gases as byproducts. It is mainly composed of two gases: methane (CH4) and carbon dioxide (CO2). Methane is the primary component of biogas, that is a flammable gas that can be burned to produce heat or electricity. while carbon dioxide is a secondary component that is less flammable.
