Degree change:-
Degree change is a very important part of grammar and vocabulary. It’s a very important part of our syllabus. In every board exam there’s always seen a question of degree change. Changing a degree means changing the type of degree in the sentence, like when a sentence is in comparative degree change in into superlative degree. Let’s lean about the types of degree.
Types of degree change:-<b style=”font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit;”>
There are three types of degree,
1) Positive degree
2) Comparative degree
3) Superlative degree
1) Positive degree:-
Positive degree is a type of degree which mean a simple sentence, it means a sentence of positive degree doesn’t compare to other adjective or adverb.
Example:-
Riya is a sweet girl.
Alisha is tall girl.
Mercedes is a fast car.
I hate this uncomfortable silence.
I want a little wine.
Neel is a good boy.
2) Comparative degree:-
Comparative degree is a type of degree when in sentence a two person are compare to each other. In this type of degree “er” is added at end of a adjective. And adjective is used with “than” , in some cases “more”.
Example:-
Riya is taller than Ankita.
Book is better than mobile.
Mia always eat less than Vincent.
My house is smaller than her.
Neel is cleaner than Sila.
3) Superlative degree:-
Superlative degree is a type of degree when in a sentence a person or a thing is compare to more than one person or things, it can provide that in the sentence which thing has a better quality. Most of the time in this degree “st” is used in the adjective.
Example:-
He is the tallest boy in the class.
I’m the proudest father in the world
You’re the most beautiful girl in the world.
Akbar is one of the greatest emperor of Mughal.
She is the smartest among all.
