Plants typically require leaves to undergo photosynthesis, a process crucial for their growth and survival. Leaves contain chlorophyll, which enables plants to convert sunlight into energy. However, there are some instances where plants can survive and grow without leaves, albeit under specific conditions. For example, certain species of cacti have adapted to arid environments and can store water in their stems, allowing them to survive with reduced or absent leaves. Additionally, certain plants can regenerate new leaves if the existing ones are damaged or removed. Nevertheless, in most cases, leaves are essential for a plant’s growth and overall health.
