To determine whether a number is even or odd, you can use the following method:

    1. Start with the number you want to check.
    2. Divide the number by 2.
    3. If the remainder is 0, the number is even. If the remainder is 1, the number is odd.

    For example:

    • Let’s check if 10 is even or odd.
    • Divide 10 by 2: 10 ÷ 2 = 5 with no remainder.
    • Since the remainder is 0, we conclude that 10 is an even number.

    Another example:

    • Let’s check if 7 is even or odd.
    • Divide 7 by 2: 7 ÷ 2 = 3 with a remainder of 1.
    • Since the remainder is 1, we conclude that 7 is an odd number.

This method works because even numbers are divisible by 2 without any remainder, while odd numbers leave a remainder of 1 when divided by 2.
