  Q. The length of a rectangle is 8 cm more than its breadth. If the perimeter of the rectangle is 64 cm, find its length and breadth.

  Let, the breadth of the rectangle is, b = x cm<div>

  the length of the rectangle is , l = x + 8 cm

  The perimeter of the rectangle is, P = 64 cm

  Perimeter = 2(length + breadth)

  64 = 2(x + 8 + x)

  64/2 = 8 + 2x

  32 = 8 + 2x

  32 – 8 = 2x

  24 = 2x

  x = 24/2

  x = 12

  b = x = 12 cm

  l = x + 8 = 12 + 8 = 20 cm

  Hence, The length of the rectangle is 20 cm and the breadth of the rectangle is 12 cm.
