  1. A rectangle has a length that is twice its width. If the perimeter of the rectangle is 36 units, what are its length and width?

  </div><div>Perimeter =2(w+l)</div><div>=2(x+2x)=36</div><div>⇒2(3x)=36</div><div>⇒6x=36</div><div>⇒x=6⇒ Width</div><div>2x=12⇒ Length</div><div>
  </div><div>Therefore, the length of the rectangle is 12cm and width is 6cm.</div>

  Then according to the question ..

  l = 2w..

  Given..

  Perimeter = 36 unit

  We know that –

  Perimeter = 2( lenth + width)

  And l = 2w then..

  36 = 2( 2w + w)

  3w = 18

  W = 6 and

  l = 2*6

  l= 12

  Then lenth of rectangle of will be 12 and width of rectangle will be 6.
