    The Earth has got some natural resources. We need to use them carefully and conserve them for future generations. Water is one of the most important natural resources available to us. World Water Day is celebrated on 22nd March every year. It is a reminder to us to save water and ensure its availability for future generations.<div>

    </div><div>2. Surface water</div><div>
    </div><div>Surface water consists of water from rivers, lakes, or ponds. This water is not safe to drink without treatment due to the increased levels of pollution.</div><div>

    </div><div>Desalination is in force where fresh water is lacking. But has some drawbacks like expensive procedures, more energy utilisation, and increased emissions.</div><div>

    </div><div>In agriculture maximum fresh water is utilized. Approximately 80% of the global water is utilized for this.</div><div>

    </div><div>Water is utilized in almost all industries for processes like washing, cleaning, diluting, etc. Approximately 20% of the global water is utilized by industries.</div><div>

    </div><div>Almost 10% of global water usage is for household needs.</div><div>
    </div><div>It is crucial to conserve water to ensure its availability for future generations. It will require advanced technology and a huge amount of investment. Practices like water recycling should be imposed to achieve the availability of this natural resource.</div>
