Biotechnology, here we can answer the question by just breaking the word biotechnology into bio + technology here it means use of bio means life, with technology ( machine). This means that it is a stream that involves all the methods that use living organisms and their products for human welfare. It has two definition now days one is old that includes the use of microbes for their products and one is modern one which says use technology and living organisms both for human welfare that includes recombinant DNA technology and even test tube baby .but to balance these two definition the European federation of biotechnology has redefined the biotechnology it says that the integration of cell, molecules living organisms and technology for human products and services is biotechnology.
It includes two fields 1. Genetic engineering 2. Bioprocess engineering.
These two allow one to work as a biotechnologist
