Explain Three Types of Animal
Apart from herbivorous and carnivorous animals, what is the third type of animal? Explain all three in brief with examples.
Explain Three Types of Animal
Animals are divided into three categories based on the food they eat. These categories are as follows:-
•Herbivores
•carnivores
•omnivores
Let we discuss each of them in details:-
1. Herbivores: Animals that feed on plants and plant products only. These animals only eat plants and their products. Plant product include( fruits , Vegetables etc)
These animals rank at the first level of the food chain. You can also be called a “vegetarian”. These animals basically eat healthy food and thus have low toxicity in their body.
They eat grasses, leaves of trees, branches, etc.
Examples of herbivores: Deer, cow, buffalo, goat, Giraffe, etc.
2. Carnivorous: Opposite to herbivores animals. They eat the flesh of other animals only. They rank second number of the food chain. For example:- grass ——deer—–lion and lion is a example of carnivorous animals.
They depend on animal and their products. You can also called them as NOn – vegetarians.
Examples of carnivorous: lion, tiger, dogs, jackals, etc.
The third category as according to the question, is omnivorous. Omni means “both”. So as per name they eat both plants, plants products and animals too.
They eat according to their circumstances. They can be dependent on both to fulfill their requirements.
For example:- bear eat plants leaves and fish both.
We humans are also omnivorous. We love to eat both plant products and animal products.
So, this is the third category @of omnivores animals. Hope you will be satisfied with my answer.
Thank you!!

Living heterotrophic organisms are divided into three categories omnivore, carnivore, herbivore.
One by one, we will be discussing all three categories in brief as these all three are interconnected.
Carnivore- Carnivores are those organisms that only eat the flesh of other animals. The animals that they eat can be any living organism. Carnivore animals are known as carnivorous.
Examples of carnivore- Lion, jaguar, tiger, crocodile, etc.
Herbivores- Herbivores are those organisms that only eat green plants and trees, and grass. These types of organisms are called herbivorous.
Examples- deer, goat, sheep, elephant, etc.
Now let’s discuss the category in which the organisms eat both the flesh of other animals as well as green plants and trees; those organisms are called omnivorous. The category of omnivores includes those who are both herbivores and carnivores.
Examples- humans, bears, dogs, cats, certain insects, etc.
Now, as additional info, there is another category that is known as cannibals. These are those certain individual organisms who can eat the flesh of their species.
