    Given :

    The school librarian could buy 80 books casting Rs 90 each from the local bookseller and also given that the publisher offered her a 20% discount.

    To Find:

    The number of copies of Mathematics books which she could buy from the publisher for the sanctioned money.

    Solution:

    The cost of a Mathematics books= Rs 90

    The cost of 80 Mathematics books= 80×90 = Rs 7200

    The publisher offered her a 20% discount.

    Then the discount on each Mathematics book= 90×(20/100)= Rs 18

    Therefore after the discount cost of each book = 90-18 =Rs 72

    Therefore the number of copies of Mathematics books which she could buy from the publisher for the sanctioned money = Total amount / cost of each book

    =7200/72

    =100

    Thus the number of copies of Mathematics books is 100.

    Let q be the number of 2/3 kg pieces that are cut from a 4kg cake.

    Therefore q×(2/3)kg = 4kg

    q= 4×(3/2)

    q=2× 3

    q = 6

    Therefore, six (2/3)kg pieces can be cut from a 4kg cake.

    (i) (2/4) ×5(1/4)

    (2/4) × (21/4)

    =42/16

    =21/8

    (ii) 2(3/5) × 2

    =(13/5) ×2

    =26/5

    The surface area of the cube=6a^2, a is the side of the cube.

    The surface area of cuboid=2(lb+bh+hl), where l, b, h are the cuboid’s length, breadth and height.

    The surface area of cylinder=2(pi)r(r+h), r is the radius of the circular base and h is the height of the cylinder.

    The volume of Cube= a^3, a is the side of the cube.

    The Volume of cuboid=lbh, where l, b, h are the cuboid’s length, breadth and height.

    The Volume of the cylinder=(pi)(r^2)h, r is the radius of the circular base and h is the height of the cylinder.

    Firstly, we convert the hour into minutes

    As we know that 1hr=60min

    Therefore 7hr 25min=(7*60)+25=445min

    3hr 45min=(3*60)+45=225 min

    Now, subtracting 225min from 445min

    445-225=220min

    which is equal to( 3*60)+40= 3hr 40min
