Oldest Civilization In the World
The oldest civilization known to date is generally considered to be the Sumerian civilization, which emerged in the southern Mesopotamian region (modern-day Iraq and Kuwait) around 4500 BCE. The Sumerians developed a sophisticated urban society with advanced agriculture, architecture, a writing system (cuneiform), mathematics, and complex social and political structures.
It’s worth noting that other ancient civilizations emerged around the same time or earlier, such as the Indus Valley Civilization in the Indian subcontinent and the Egyptian civilization along the Nile River. However, the Sumerians are often regarded as the oldest known civilization due to the extensive written records and archaeological evidence that have been discovered in Mesopotamia.
