Parts of a Human Ear
What are the different parts of a human ear? In what manner a sound is identified by a human mind?
Parts of a human ear
The ear is the sense organ of the human body that not only enables us to hear but also maintains the body balance. Strange right? But yes, the ear also helps in maintaining the body’s balance.
A human ear can be divided into three parts –
The outer ear, middle ear, and inner ear
1. The outer ear—
It is the outermost visible part of an ear. It is also known as the pinna.
2. The middle ear—
It includes the tympanic cavity and the three ear ossicles.
The three ossicles are the malleus, incus, and stapes.
3. The inner ear—
It consists of semicircular canals, utriculus, and sacculus, and cochlea.
The semicircular canals aid in balancing a moving body
Utriculus and sacculus aid in maintaining body balance when stationary
And the cochlea contains the organ of Corti or the hearing organ; that is, it aids in hearing.
