Description
The word builder worksheet is a powerful sheet that supports kids in reading, writing, speaking phonetics, and creating words. This worksheet is perfect for Grade 1 students who have just been introduced to letters and simple words.
This worksheet comes with a box at the top for noting the name, date, section, and teacher details. It also has an answer key for the word builder. So, teachers can use this for classroom activities as well as for assessments.
It can even be used by parents at home to prepare kids for preschool.
Look, Build, and Write
The instructions, such as “look,” “build,” and “write,” are given at the top of the row so that students can easily follow the instructions before proceeding with the activity.
An eye image is given to denote looking, a scissors image along with a glue image is given to select the appropriate letter after cutting it, and a pencil image is given to denote writing at the top of each row, respectively.
Students are instructed to identify the object given, then cut and paste the identified letters into the corresponding row. After that, they are instructed to write the letter that has been pasted.
The answers are given at the bottom of the page as randomly split words. Each of the broken words is surrounded by dotted lines, and a scissors image is printed along the line to denote the boundaries for cutting.
Students are advised to cut and paste the words with the help of teachers or parents.
