Five Senses Sorting Printable Activity

Description

This fun and interactive cut-and-paste activity helps children learn about the five senses—Sight, Hearing, Smell, Taste, and Touch. Children will cut out the picture cards and paste each one onto the correct sense star. As they sort the objects, they will develop a better understanding of how we use our senses in everyday life while improving their observation and fine motor skills.

Materials Needed

• Printed worksheet pages
• Child-safe scissors
• Glue stick
• Cardboard (optional)

Preparation

1. Download and print all the Five Senses activity sheets.
2. Paste the sheets onto cardboard for extra durability.
3. Carefully cut out the sense cards at the top and the picture cards at the bottom of each sheet.
4. Keep all the cut-out sense cards and picture cards ready for the matching and sorting activity.

How to Play

Option 1: Five Senses Sorting

• Cut out all the picture cards.
• Look at each picture carefully.
• Decide which of the five senses the object represents.
• Paste each picture inside the matching sense star.
• Continue until all the pictures have been sorted correctly.

Option 2: Explain Your Choice

• After placing each picture, say the name of the sense aloud.
• Explain why the picture belongs to that sense.
• Encourage children to describe how they use that sense in everyday life.

Option 3: Real-Life Connection

• After completing the worksheet, ask children to name other objects they can see, hear, smell, taste, or touch.
• Discuss how each sense helps us learn about the world around us.

Option 4: Sort Before You Glue

• Arrange all the picture cards on the correct stars without gluing.
• Check the answers together.
• Glue the pictures once all the pictures are in the correct place.
