Description
This fun shadow-matching activity helps children identify different fruits and vegetables by matching each colorful cutout to its correct shadow and name. Children cut out the fruit and vegetable pictures and place them on the matching silhouettes, helping develop observation, vocabulary, and fine motor skills through hands-on learning.
Materials Needed
- Printed worksheet pages
- Cardboard (optional)
- Child-safe scissors
- Glue stick
Preparation
- Download and print the worksheet pages.
- For extra durability, paste the pages onto cardboard.
- Carefully cut out all the fruit and vegetable pictures along the dotted lines.
- Place the cutouts on a flat surface.
- Keep the matching board nearby.
How to Play
Option 1: Shadow Matching
- Look at each fruit or vegetable cutout.
- Find the matching shadow on the worksheet.
- Match the picture with its correct silhouette and name.
- Paste each cutout onto the correct shadow using a glue stick.
- Continue until all the fruits and vegetables have been matched correctly.
Option 2: Name and Match
- Pick one fruit or vegetable cutout.
- Say its name aloud.
- Find the matching shadow and word on the worksheet.
- Paste it in the correct place.
- Repeat until every picture has been matched.
Option 3: Sorting Challenge
- Separate all the cutouts into two groups: Fruits and Vegetables.
- Match each picture to its correct shadow on the corresponding worksheet.
- Check that every fruit is placed on the Fruits page and every vegetable is placed on the Vegetables page.
