T-Shirt Button Color Pattern Match Activity Printable

Description

This fun T-Shirt Button Pattern Activity helps children develop color recognition, pattern sequencing, visual discrimination, and problem-solving skills. Children will observe the pattern cards and place the matching colored bottle caps onto the T-shirt board in the correct order. This hands-on activity encourages careful observation while strengthening early logical thinking skills.

Materials Needed

• Printed worksheet pages
• Child-safe scissors
• Cardboard or thick cardstock (for the T-shirt board)
• Glue stick or strong craft glue
• 3 plastic bottle mouths (neck portions)
• 3 matching bottle caps
• Printed colored button circles (included in the resource)

Instructions

1. Download and print all the worksheet pages.
2. Carefully cut out the T-shirt board along its outer outline.
3. Paste the T-shirt onto cardboard or thick cardstock for extra durability, then allow the glue to dry completely.
4. If desired, paste the pattern card sheet onto cardboard or thick cardstock for longer-lasting use.
5. Carefully cut out each pattern card along the outer dashed cutting lines.
6. Cut out the three colored button circles and paste one onto each bottle cap.
7. Cut the plastic bottle mouths (neck portions) and securely attach them to the marked positions on the T-shirt board.
8. Choose one pattern card and place it beside the T-shirt board.
9. Observe the color sequence shown on the pattern card.
10. Place the matching colored bottle caps onto the bottle mouths on the T- shirt board in the same order as shown on the selected pattern card.
11. Remove the bottle caps and repeat the activity with the remaining pattern cards.

How to Play

Option 1: Match the Pattern

• Pick a pattern card.
• Look at the order of the colors.
• Place the matching bottle caps onto the board in the same sequence.

Option 2: Complete All Pattern Cards

• Finish one pattern card.
• Remove the bottle caps.
• Select another card and repeat until all patterns are completed.

Option 3: Speed Challenge

• Set a timer.
• Complete the correct color pattern before the time runs out.

Option 4: Memory Challenge

• Look at a pattern card for a few seconds.
• Turn it over.
• Try to recreate the color sequence from memory.
