Reasons To Conserve Water
Why is there a need to conserve water?
Suppose you live in a society with proper maintenance. One Sunday morning, your family decides to enjoy the weekend at a picnic spot, and after a while, you find that the water supply is dealing with a problem.
Henceforth, your secretary announces to go and get water from the next society tanker. And your Sunday gets wasted. You felt, if you had conserved water, you would have enjoyed your weekend today.
So it needs to be known that:
• Why is the water decreasing?
• Why is the distribution of water uneven?
• Why is there a lack of rainfall?
• Why is there a shortage of underground water?
• Why is the water usage higher?
• Why does water need to be conserved?
Answers:
• Why is the water decreasing?
= The growing pollution leads to changes in the climate, which results in droughts, floods, heatwaves, etc. It pollutes the freshwater and underground water as well, which leads to a decrease in water.
• Why is the distribution of water uneven?
= It is because of the uneven distribution of rainfall. Due to different climatic conditions, every state gets that much rainfall, hence the scarcity arises.
• Why is there a lack of rainfall?
= There is a lack of water vapour in the atmosphere, which means there is less precipitation. High-pressure systems reduce evaporation and moisture in the atmosphere.
• Why is there a shortage of underground water?
= The change in climate, which leads to calamities like droughts, floods, decreases the underground water. Human consumption, wastage, and overuse have been done as well, which are the reasons for the shortage.
• Why is the use of water is more?
= The use of water is more because every plant, animal and humans consume water for the purpose of drinking, bathing, cooking, agricultural procedures in industries, companies and factories etc., That is why water is used more.
• Why does water need to be conserved?
= Conserving water is important to save future lives, keep water
Reasons To Conserve Water
The Earth is known as the blue planet, with a huge reserve of water. It is known that 70.8% of the Earth’s surface consists of water, but even after that, we face water crises in our everyday lives. This is because 97.5% of the available water is salt water, which is not suitable for consumption. Salt water is to be treated and needs to be run through a lot of checks, which is neither cost-efficient nor fully safe for consumption. Among the 2.5% of fresh water available on the surface of the earth, only 0.03% is available in the regular liquid form for use, the rest of the water is frozen in glaciers and ice caps.
In this hour of crisis, with this less amount of usable water ever ever-increasing water pollution its high time for conserving water, to make water resources sustainable and save water for future generations. Also, the ever-growing population accounts for the urge to save water, as without water, it is impossible to sustain life on earth. Water is necessary for crops to grow, which is our basic necessity.
Some basic everyday measures that we should necessarily take to conserve water:
1. Turn off taps when not in use.
2. Use rainwater harvesting techniques.
3. Recycle water
4. Use a bucket instead of taking a sower

For living organisms, including the human body, water plays a very important role.
An adult human body contains 60% water, where the brain and heart are composed of 73% water, and the lungs are about 83% water. The skin contains 64% water, muscles and kidneys are 79%, and even the bones are watery ie, 31%. There are various advantages of having water.
• Flushing out the toxins from our body.
• Regulation body temperature.
• Helps the brain to function.
• It helps in creating saliva.
• It lubricates the joints and protects tissues, joints, and bones.
• It helps to excrete waste in the form of sweat, urination, and precipitation.
• Helps in the process of digestion. Through the process of digestion, the nutrients and water are absorbed from the food and used up in the body, which gives energy to the body to perform work. and also in bowel movement.
• It helps in maximising the physical performance of an athlete.
• Water and fibre help in avoiding constipation.
• Helps in the absorption of nutrients in the large intestine and small intestine.
• It helps to fight diseases such as
1. Constipation
2. Kidney stones
3. Asthma
4. Hypertension
5. Urinary tract infections
6. Migraine
• Having an adequate amount of water helps in curing psychological problems such as stress, anxiety, depression, etc.
• It helps to keep the body hydrated and keeps the mood and mind fresh.
Eating a healthy and balanced diet and drinking an adequate amount of water helps our body to rejuvenate and fulfill our nutritional values. Thinking positively also plays an important role in our healthy life and body.
Water also helps in rejuvenating clear skin and a healthy body.
Water is a very important resource and should be conserved so that the next generation gets the opportunity to enjoy the natural resources we have.

Though planet Earth is a blue planet, we feel a scarcity of water. In metro cities, water is available only one time only. The groundwater level is also decreased. So rainwater harvesting is a great step to conserve water for further use. Rainwater is natural falling water, it can be stored for further usage like planting, mopping, washing vehicles, and many more. In earlier times, people used to store rainwater in large containers for further use, as there is no availability of tap and pumps at every house. Water, water everywhere, but nothing to drink because water is brutally polluted in cities. Also, air pollution will cause acid rain. So we need to minimize air pollution and water pollution as well. Through water harvesting, we can also conserve water, as rainwater will not be wasted. That’s why we need to conserve rainwater.
Hope you will be satisfied with my answer.
Thank you!!
