Polar bears are entirely covered in thick and luxurious double layers of fur, the thickest of any bear. This insulates them from the cold, even in water. The fur coat usually appears to be perfectly white, providing camouflage against the snowy background. They also have thick fur on their paws to give the best grip on slippery surfaces.
