Types of Emotions

Emotions are a very important part of the mind. And living beings can’t be possible without emotion. Emotions make us human. The different kinds of emotions describe our state of mind. The choices we make, the actions we take, and therefore the perceptions we’ve are all influenced by the emotions we are experiencing at any given moment. The common emotions of humans are Happiness, sadness, fear, disgust,t and anger.

Happiness: Happiness is the emotion that people strive for the most. Happiness is usually defined as a pleasing spirit that’s characterized by feelings of contentment, joy, gratification, satisfaction, and well-being. Happiness requires living a healthy life.

Sadness: Sadness is an emotion that is defined as a transient spirit described by feelings of disappointment, grief, hopelessness, disinterest, and dampened mood. Sadness is often expressed in several ways, including

crying, depressed mood, lethargy, quietness, and Withdrawal from others. Sadness can turn into depression.

Fear: Fear is a powerful emotion that also plays an important role in survival. When you face some sort of danger, you experience fear, you go through what is known as the fight or flight response. When you are in fear, your heartbeat becomes fast and tense, priming your body to either run from the danger or stand or face it.

Disgust: Disgust is an emotion that can emerge from a sense of revulsion that can originate from several things, including an unpleasant taste, sight, or smell. When you are disgusted by something, you turn away from the object of disgust. Sometimes, it shows some physical reactions such as vomiting or retching,

Anger: Anger is a powerful emotion described by feelings of hostility, agitation, frustration, and antagonism towards others. Anger can also play a part in your body’s fight or flight response. Anger is often thought of as a negative emotion, it can sometimes be a good thing. When you become angry, your face turns red, you start yelling, and you hit or throw objects.

Surprise: Surprise is an emotion that comes unexpectedly. It can be both positive and negative. It has an important effect on human behavior. For example, research has shown that folks tend to disproportionately notice surprising events. When you are surprised, your eyes can become wide and your mouth open, sometimes you can scream or gasp.
