Mechanical Energy And Into What Forms Can It Be Converted?
Mechanical energy can be termed as the total of kinetic as well as potential energy. Any object that has mechanical energy, whether in the form of kinetic energy or the form of potential energy, can do work. To be frank, mechanical energy is necessary to work. It is the energy associated with motion. Mechanical energy can be classified into two. Mechanical energy is associated with movement( kinetic energy), and mechanical energy is associated with stationary objects( potential energy). All other energy forms can be classified as potential energy or kinetic energy. The law of conservation of energy states that energy can be converted from one form to another, but there will not be any loss or gain of energy. The amount of energy remains constant. Mechanical energy can be converted into many other forms. Mechanical energy can be converted into heat energy, sound energy, light energy, etc. An example of the conversion of mechanical energy into heat energy is the heat produced in a rolling car tyre. An example of the conversion of mechanical energy into sound energy is the thud sound produced when an object falls from a height. An example of the conversion of mechanical energy into light energy is the formation of a spark when two stones collide.
