    Quadratic Functions:

Quadratic functions involve the second power of the variable but no higher power. The kinetic energy of a moving body is given by K.E. =1/2mv^2 , where m represents the mass and v represents the velocity of the object.

In general, A quadratic function is function that may be defined by the equation y=ax^2+bx+c, where a, b, and c are complex numbers constants or parameters, but a≠0. Notice that the restriction a≠0 assures that y=ax^2+bx+c defines a non-linear function.

The following equations define the quadratic functions:

    1. y=x^2

    2. y=-4x^2

    3 y=x^2-6x+8

    Quadratic Equations:

An equation in which the highest power of the variable i.e., degree is two is called a quadratic equation.

ax^2+bx+c=0, where a,b,c are constants, is a general quadratic equation.

    Examples:

    1. 5x^2+2x=0

    2. x^2+2x-1=0

    3. 58x^2+52x +6=0

    4. 9x^2+6x-1=0

    Consider the quadratic equations ax^2+bx+c=0, where a, b, c € R and a≠0

Roots of the equation is given by x=(-b±√(b^2-4ac))/2a .

    What is plus/minus sign?

The plus/minus sign is used because every quadratic equation has maximum two solution.

    Nature of Roots:

The nature of the roots, real or imaginary, depends on the b^2-4ac.

This is generally denoted by D also called Discriminant.

    1. If D=0, Roots are real and equal.

    2. If D>0, Roots are real and distinct.

    3. If D<0, Roots are imaginary.

The Himalayas, or Himalaya is a mountain range containing fifty mountains exceeding 7,200 m in elevation.

This mountain range is found in South and East Asia separating the plains of the Indian Subcontinent from the Tibetan Plateau.

The range has many of earth’s highest peaks, including Mount Everest, highest peak of world at the border between Nepal and China.

Tension during exam times is quite common. Often children get overwhelmed by the upcoming exams due to pressure or stress.

    Some signs of stress:

    1. Having trouble sleeping.

    2. Lack of motivation.

    3. Feeling sick.

    4. Upset stomach.

    5. Headaches.

    6. Maintaining distance from friends.

Now, the question arises why do children are stressed during exam time?

    1. They worry about failing that exam.

    2. Want to do really well in that exam.

    3. They find it hard to understand what they’re studying.

    4. Competition with others.

    5. Don’t have much confidence in themselves.

    6. Don’t feel prepared.

    7. Didn’t get much time to prepare.

    8. Pressure from family to get good marks.

    9. Something else might be happening in their life.

These are some sign and reason that you might feel during exam stress and can prove lethal to your mental as well as physical health.

To cope up with studies and to get rid of these stress, here are some tips:

    1. Stick to your routine: Sticking to your routine will boost your health and you will feel confidence. Sleep, eat and wake up daily at regular time. It will grow your confidence.

2.Eat a balanced Diet: Eating well will give you energy. Not only to your body but mind also. It will energize your mind and will increase it efficiency.

    3. No to Energy drinks: Often children make this common mistakes. They go for energy drinks to give them energy and feel motivated but it has a diverse effect. It might boost your mind for a short period of time but eventually get on your nerves making you feel more worried. Drink water instead.

    4. Exercise: Exercising can calm you down, increase your metabolism and make you feel more relax.

Water is one of the most essential for the survival of the living beings. Not humans but animals need it too.

About 71% of the Earth’s surface is covered with water and out of which only 0.3 percent of fresh water is available for drinking.

Therefore it is necessary to save water not only on a individual basis but on a universal level.

Water is depleting way to fast and to conserve water many plans of government is in effect. But the rising pollution and population is affecting the water bodies greatly.

If we do not conserve water now, it will result in shortages in the near future. Water conservation can go a long way to help reduce these forthcoming shortage.

So here is the some method that might help you to save water.

    1. Close your tap while brushing your teeth.

    2. Use bucket instead of shower while bathing.

    3. Use washing machine fully loaded, not half-loaded.

    4. Water the plants with watering can.

    5. Use the method like Rainwater Harvesting.

    6. Take short baths.

    7. Double check faucets and pipes for leaks.

    8. Don’t leave the water running while you wash the dishes.

    9. Wash your car with bucket and soap not with running hose.

    10. Don’t waste too much water in summer while playing.

    11. Avoid over watering your lawn.

    12. Avoid flushing your toilets too many times.

    13. Use water friendly equipment.

    14. Do not water dry lands.

    15. Use less water while doing laundry or do less laundry.

    16. Install a water meter.

    17. Avoid running sprinklers when it’s raining, windy or in the middle of the day as the water will evaporate.

    18. Use water conservation techniques like Dry Farming, rotational Grazing etc.

    19. Increase the awareness of water conservation in your locality.

    20. Educate children about the importance of water and its conservation.

Everyone should follow these steps to conserve water for the future generation.
