A milkman adds a very small quantity of baking soda to fresh milk, as it helps the milkman to keeps the milk unspoiled for little more time than usual. (if there is no baking soda in the milk, it will not last for a longer period of time and will convert into curd really soon). After adding soda the pH value of the milk (the pH value of milk is generally 6 before adding soda), increases and it turns milk to slightly alkaline. When the milk is boiling, and when we consume the boiled milk it tastes little bitter, the bitterness is due to the presence of soda in the milk. Now that there is soda in the milk and it has turned alkaline, the alkaline base willl prevent milk from turning directly to curd. Now the milk will take longer time to covert itself from milk to curd.

Hydroelectricity is also known as hydroelectric power or hydroelectric energy. Hydroelectricity is that form of electricity that is generated by generators which are placed in water. When water moves the generator kind os moves and generate hydroelectricity. It is generally fitted in dams, which also helps to block a river which may convert into a reservoir of water. When the blocked water is released, it has great pressure in it the pressure helps the turbine to rotate and that helps to generate electricity. It is considered to be a domestic source of energy, which allows each state to produce its electricity.

This is one of the best method to renew energy. It almost generates one sixth of the world’s electricity. There is a lot less pollution when electricity is generated with the help of dam. In many countries electricity is generated with the help of hydroelectricity.

    Importance of Hydroelectricity

    1. When electricity is generated with the help of this method there is no harm to environment.

    2. There is no wastage in this method, and is very powerful and safe.

    3. It can be used a peaking power plant and this is one of biggest advantage of the same.

    4. It also helps to supply water for irrigation. As irrigation needs a lot water and is difficult to store that amount of water. So with help of hydroelectric one can access the water anytime.

    5. When there is major electricity outage or there is disturbance in electricity they provide essential backup of the same.

With this there are also few disadvantages to it. When large dams are built it damages the environment. Building large dams requires a lot of material man force and money. With such changing time where there is a lot of climate change happening around there is shortage of water making it difficult to work on it.

Our body is very unique. The entire system is governed by brain. Brain is located in head of the body. All the 5 senses work in accordance of brain. Nerves send the signals to the brain and accordingly we react. Each and every senses plays an unique role. The 5 senses of the human body are –

    1. Sight – Eyes help an individual to see and acknowledge things. With help of eyes the light which falls into the eye is converted into image with help of brain and this how we see objects near us. There are few people who does not have this sense, they don’t have eye they are know as blind people.

    2. Smell – Noes help us to smell fragrance around us. Dogs have good smelling skills. But humans also have 400 smelling receptors. One human can differentiate 1 trillion diffrent smells. There are few people who cannot smell so there are chances that they are likely suffering from some kind of syndrome.

    3. Touch – Touch is one of the most important sense. With the help of hands we can touch things. Touch is the first sense that a human develop. Touch can also influence the way we take our decision. Pain, temperature, vibration, different textures, pressure all these things are associated with touch. A person who is blind. The touch sense helps the person to understand the surroundings.

    4. Sound – With help of ears an individual an hear different types of sound. different types of vibrations, loud sounds, music etc are all related to sound. There are few people who cannot hear and there are hearning devices which help an individual to hear.

    5. Taste – With help of Tounge we can taste different type of tastes. That are sour, bitter, sweet and salty. Spicy is not a taste, it is actually a pain signal. There is a fifth taste known as savory. There are stilll many other flavors which are yet to be discovered.

Mitochondria are double-membraned organelles. The mitochondria is know as “energy currency of the cell” or “the power house of the cell” because it produces ATP. ATP stands for adenosine triphosphate, it is a type of energy that is released. They contain their own own ribosomes and dna. It helps in cellular respiration because of production of ATP in this cell. ATP is produced by consuming glucose and other nutrients.

Mitochondria uses oxygen and as a by product it releases carbon dioxide. In fact after every breath a human inhales oxygen and the carbon dioxide which is released out of the body is by the product of the cell. One human can have one single large mitochondria or even thousands of small mitochondria. It also stores calcium as it a very important part of our body it helps in the functioning of our muscles fertilisation, blood Clotting etc. Size of one mitochondria is generally 1-10 micrometers in length.

ATP is also a very good source of energy for our body. they have a power to recycle them. It is produced it plants, animals and humans. It can be used in Endothermic and exothermic processes. When a cell in our body becomes old or broken they have to be cleared away and destroyed so that new cells can be formed. Mitochondria play as very important role as it decides which cells is suppose to be removed and destroyed.

Mitochondria plays a very important role as in absorbs the calcium, irons, and store in until it is needed to out body. Mitochondria is also helpful to produce heat in our body it can use a tissue called brown fat which can be used to generate heat. Brown fat is found at its highest level in infants and it slowly reduces as one persons age increases. These are the reasons by why it is called “energy currency of the cell”.

The main function of human teeth is breakdown of food Into smaller pieces which further helps in digestion of food. Teeth are considered to be the strongest part of human body. Teeth are made from proteins such as collagen, calcium and other minerals. Apart from chewing the food it also helps us to speak properly. Total number of teeth are 32 in an adult They are divided as 8 incisors, 4 canines which are also called cuspids, 8 premolars also called bicuspids, 12 molars which include 4 wisdom teeth.

Our human teeth are divided into 4 parts:

    Incisors-

The Incisors are our front 8 teeth. These teeth helps us to bite our food. They have sharp edges and are also shaped like small chisels. When we bite an apple we use our Incisors teeth.

    Canines-

Canines are the next teeth that develop in one’s mouth. We have total of four Canines teeth and they are your sharpest teeth, which is used for tearing apart food. When after biting an apple with help of Incisor teeth after that Canine further helps to chew.

    Premolars-

Premolars help us to tear our food. And also helps to crush them into small pices. They have flat biting surface. There are total of 8 Premolars.

    Molars-

These teeth are considered to be the largest amongst the all. Their function is similar to the premolars, helps to grind, tear, and also crush the food. There are total of 12 molars, out of which 4 develop during age period of 18-25. One might or might not have 4 molars which develop in later stages. It can also be a painful process to experience.

People don’t really take care of their teeth. They take them for granted. One should really look after their teeth as it is very important part of our body.

The reason why curd and sour substances should not be kept in Brass and Copper vessels, as both the substances are acid in nature. Sour substances are those substances which have citric acid for instance: like lemon, limes, oranges etc. Further “an acid can be classified as strong or weak based on its reactivity, conductivity and pH level”. When the substance is keept in such containers acids react with metals to produce hydrogen gas and salt. Because of which the container will be corroded and the food also may get spoiled.

    METAL+ACID=HYDROGEN GAS+SLAT”

When the substance is kept in brass or copper it reacts and the the toxic element which is created may prove harmful for human body or may also cause food poisoning. That is the reason why we use stainless steal. Thus, it is advisable not to keep those substances in Brass or copper containers.

    Introduction:

In simple language, environment Pollution is the addition of contaminants into the natural environment that causes detrimental effects to nature, natural resources and mankind. Any unnatural and negative changes in all the dimensions like chemical, physical and biological characteristics of any component of the ecosystem i.e. air, water or soil which can cause harmful effects on various forms of life and property is called environmental pollution.

Environmental pollution is not a new phenomenon, yet it remains the world’s greatest problem facing humanity, and the leading environmental causes of morbidity and mortality. When man’s shifted from urban areas to industrial are , mining and exploration are the main reason of global environmental pollution. Pollution must be taken seriously, as it has a negative effect on natural elements that are an absolute need for life to exist on earth, such as water and air. Indeed, without it, or if they were present in different quantities, animals – including humans – and plants could not survive. We can identify several types of pollution on Earth: air pollution, water pollution and soil pollution. We humans are main factors of environment pollution. The seeped at which developments are happening we are destroying our nature from our hand.

    What causes pollutants?

Any substance which causes harmful effects or uneasiness in the organisms, then that particular substance may be called as the pollutant.

The materials that cause pollution are of two types:

    1. Persistent pollutants: Those pollutants which remain consistent in the environment for a long period of time without any change in its original form are called persistent pollutants. For example pesticides, nuclear wastes, and plastics etc.

    2. Non-persistent pollutants: These pollutants are the opposite of persistent pollutant and break down in the simple form. If this process of breaking down is done by living organisms, then such pollutants are referred to as biodegradable pollutants.

Main reason of the destruction are-

    1. Industrial Growth – Industries have been polluting our environment, especially since the beginning of the industrial revolution, as mentioned above, notably due to the increasing use of fossil fuels. In the 19th century and for a significant part of the 20th century, coal has been used to make machines work faster, replacing human force. At the same time, if the tanker transporting petrol from its production plant to the place where it will be consumed leaks or sinks, the water will get contaminated.

    2. Increased use of Transportation – Ever since men abandoned animal power to travel, pollution of the environment has become higher and higher. Its levels have only been increasing until now. Similarly to industries, pollution caused by transport can mainly be attributed to fossil fuels.

    3. Agricultural Activities – Agriculture is mainly responsible for the contamination of water and soil. This is caused by the increased use of pesticides, as well as by the intensive character of its production. Almost all pesticides are made from chemical substances and are meant to keep diseases and threatening animals away from the crops.

    4. People shifting from rural to urban areas – In search of job opportunities people have started migrating. They have starting converting forests into Residential areas, which also provide their fair share of pollution as well. First, to be able to build homes, the natural environment has to be destroyed in one way or another.

The salt march was started in April, 1930 and it was led by Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi also known as the father of our nation. It was an act of civil disobedience against the British rule in india. In this march thousands of Indians followed Gandhiji. This movement was started because of the 1882, salt act imposed by the Britain. This act prohibited Indians from manufacturing or selling salt which was a staple diet at that time. The masses were forced to purchase salt from the British rulers who not only controlled the manufacturing and selling but also imposed a heavy salt tax on the vital mineral. This act affected all the Indians.

Gandhiji, along with his followers started this march on 12th march 1930, from Sambermanti near Ahmedabad to a town named Dandi. This is why it is also known as Dandi march. This march was roughly 240 miles long and as they got closer to their destination the number of followers kept on increasing. The aim of Gandhiji was to defy the British rulers by making salt from seawater. On 5th April the crowd finally reached Dandi. This march broke out all across India where millions of people joined the movement.

The british rulers were furious and arrested more than 60,000 Indians. Gandhiji was also arrested on 5th May but the satyagrah movement continued without him. On May 21 Sarojini Naidu along 2,500 salt workers marched to Dharasana to peacefully protest the salt act but they were brutally beaten up by British-led Indian policemen. In January 1931 Gandhiji was released from prison due to his deteriorating health.

Later that year, Gandhiji called off the Satyagraha in exchange for equal negotiating role at a conference which was held in London for the future of India. The meeting was a disappointment but this made the Britishers had acknowledged Gandhiji as a force to be reckoned with. Finally, India got its independence on 15th August 1947.

The differences between herbivores, carnivores and omnivores are the following-

    Who are herbivores?

The creatures which eats or consume just plants for their fulfilment are called herbivores. Examples of herbivores are cow, , deer, beetle, camel etc. They are considered to be first level of consumers. Generally the teeth of herbivores are not that sharp. The main use of their teeth is for crushing and grinding that is the reason why they are not that sharp. Salivary Glands are also present in herbivores.

    Who are Carnivores?

The creatures which eats the life form of animals or meat are called Carnivores. Example of Carnivores are lion, bear, snake, wolf, etc. They are considered to be second level of consumers. As carnivours are meat eaters they have pretty sharp teeth that also helps them to shewing and tearing flesh. Salivary Glands are not really that developed and are small.

    Who are Omnivores?

The creatures which eat both plant food just as meat of different are called omnivores.Best examples of omnivores are us the human beings, cows, bear, etc. They are considered as tertiary level of consumers. As omnivores are both plant and meat eater so they have sharp and not that sharp teeths.Salivary Glands are well developed.

World War II is also know as Second World War. It took place because of unsetteled disputes of the world war I. It was was fought between the Axis Powers and the the Allied Powers Axis power covered Japan, Germany, Italy and on the other hand allied power covered United states, France, Britain etc. Most of the countires in the world were invloved including India. World war started just after Germnay invaled Polad in 1939.

Britain and France came together and announced a war on Germnay. Initially the world war started in Europe but eventually speard throughout the world. The maximum of fighting took place in eupore ans south aisa. At that time India was controlled by by the United Kingdom, with the British holding domains in India including more than 600 self-ruling Princely States. British India authoritatively pronounced conflict on Nazi Germany in September 1939. The Indian Army during World War II was one of the biggest Allied powers contingents which took part in the North and East African Campaign, Western Desert Campaign.

The British all alone didn’t had an opportunity to win against the Germans. There biggest asset was India. India likewise had it’s financial commitment refuted by England as India was never repaid for this. In fact India offered more and more resources than England and the wide range of various other colonies in terms of human existence.

During the war India In 1941, Roosevelt and Churchill signed the Atlantic Charter, which set out their joint beliefs for the world after the conflict. The Allied battle for freedom straightforwardly negated their pioneer power and, despite the fact that Churchill explained that the contract was just implied for nations under Axis occupation, Gandhi’s Quit India development started only one year later.

The Quit India development tried to end British guideline. Gandhi constrained his kinsmen to stop collaboration with the British. He was arrested by different leaders of the Indian National Congress and, following shows against this, 100,000 were detained. The Quit India development is frequently seen as the unification of an Indian larger part against Britain. onthe other hand the feeling that India had a better chance of independence under the Axis Powers, a fellow member of the Indian National Congress, Subhas Chandra Bose, sought sympathy in Germany. Bose had established a provisional government of India in Singapore, built up a 40,000 strong army and declared war on the Allies.

The strength of the powers from the British Raj on the 70% pilgrim Allied side in this fight, notwithstanding, encouraged nationalist movements in India and its adjoining nations, resulting with the eventual grant of independence in 1947.

    What is acid rain?

Acid rain is formed from highly acidic water droplets because of air emissions, most specifically the disproportionate levels of sulphur and nitrogen emitted by various vehicles and manufacturing processes. It is often called as acid precipitation as it contains many sorts of acidic precipitation.

The acidic deposition can take place by two ways only either wet or dry. Wet deposition is any sort of precipitation which removes acids from the atmosphere and places them on the surface of the planet, earth. In absence of precipitation, dry deposition of polluting particles and also gases sticks to the bottom through dust and smoke.

The clean rain water we experience is water and carbon dioxide which react together and form weak Carbonic Dioxide which is to that harmful. the reaction which is formed is

    “H2O (l) + CO2 (g) ⇌ H2CO3 (aq)”

    Reasons of Acid rain-

The major cause of acid rain are Sulphur and Nitrogen particles which get mixed with the rain that results to acid rain. The gases which are emitted in air. Pollution that increases the emission of carbon dioxide. Also the human activities that emit oxides of sulphur, nitrogen in the air.

Effects of acid Rain on the environment

    1. Acid rain is extremely harmful to many things. For instance: plants and animals, Humans, agriculture. It washes away all nutrients which are present and required for the expansion and survival of plants.

    2. It also causes respiratory issues in both humans and plants.

    3. It also corrosion of water pines. Damages buildings, monuments which are made up of stones or metals.

    4. When acid rain falls into water bodies like sea’s, ocean’s it damages the life living creatures like fish and other creatures.
